| A few months ago TAUS, the Translation Automation User Society, published in its blog a short video animation on the history of translation. We decided to contribute to this interesting initiative by providing Italian subtitles. The video animation was created by two Dutch artists, Marieke van Diepen and Rachel de Boer. It recounts the history of translation very concisely (and it lacks some consistency - to tell the truth!). It covers everything from the Tower of Babel to the Internet in three minutes. Subtitling this video animation was a good occasion for Qabiria to reach out to a large audience. We have observed on many an occasion that most people ignore what translation really is. Any initiative to fill this knowledge gap is therefore most welcome.
